The agenda this morning was that I was going to do some gentle water aerobics to loosen up and then we were going to drive to Catawba to take the ferry to Put-in-Bay to do some exploration on foot.
The aerobics were done and the drive along the Lake Erie shoreline was very enjoyable due to the attractive new and older homes lining the shore. Denny and I both agreed that a lottery win would allow us to purchase a summer 'cottage' here and that we would seriously consider it. The area is close to larger cities but still 'small town' in nature and of course the cost of living in Ohio is much less expensive than in other areas of the country. It's just one of those games we play.
Upon arrival in Catawba we saw that the winds had whipped up quite a froth and chop on the lake so we decided to pass on the ferry ride. Denny is not a good sailor so we decided that visiting Kelley Island would happen another time. Instead, we continued the driving loop of Rt. 163 to visit the Mon Ami Winery to ask about Catawba wines. The lady behind the wine counter explained that the Catawba grapes produce a sweet wine, so we decided to taste test their Reisling and Shirah wines made from imported California grapes . Both were worthy of the purchase of a bottle or two, no arm-twisting necessary.
The rest of the day was spent on minor rig maintenance and relaxing. We're still adjusting to being back home and enjoying it. After dinner we tried a mile-long walk to see how my knee would handle it and I discovered I could make it the entire distance without limping so the knee is getting stronger. We used the walk as an opportunity for some picture taking also as seen by the photos I've included below. Tonight we'll walk to the river and get some pictures of that end of the campground.
Enjoy your weekend!

I am very glad to hear that your knee is so improved. A mile walk.. that is a good test.
Love the photos of the swans!
I'm so glad you're recovering so well, and was wincing with you as you described the expensive mistake. Yikes.
The swans were lovely!
Keep up the good therapy!
