After a rough bit yesterday evening when my mother's heart rate once again soared and fluttered, she calmed down and had a relatively peaceful night. When I left at 9:30AM this morning after spending the night she was still pretty sedated and motionless. I'm hoping this all works out.
Thanks to all of you who have commented and written--your words help more than you will ever know. Hugs to you all.

I had to give the okay on placing my mom on a respirator the time she had to be transported from (small town) to Houston. They wouldn't transport her with out it.
When she was just well enough to understand what was going on, I had to tell her that I couldn't NOT allow the respirator, as she needed it for support, while she was getting well, not because there was no other...hope.
I think she's forgiven me, but it was still a hard choice and I dread having to make it again.
You and your mom are often in my thoughts Linda. I am hoping that all is going well.
