Gambolling and Gambling

Okay, so I wasn't really gambolling, it was line-dancing but that didn't have the same punch in the title.

Wednesday I decided to see what the line-dancing class was all about. Since the winter season starts at the beginning of January and some people stay at the same campground for three to four months at a time there are times that the "beginners" classes have gone well beyond the beginner stage if you join in in February. Fortunately, there were three other rank amateurs with me and the instructor did start us off with very simple line dances such as the Electric Glide and the Little Black Book so the true beginners had fun (especially because we had a lone husband in there who made us look really good!) and the more experienced ladies graciously exhibited a lot of patience. Each dance got a little more complex and the two hours flew by.

As I was walking back to our rig I was thinking about the bus trip to the Apache Gold Casino we had signed up for on Thursday morning and it occurred to me that in December I will officially be old enough to be in these 55+ campground (I've been grandfathered in thanks to Denny-heh). It seems with joining these classes and excursions I have already developed the mindset. Aaaggghhh. When did I get old????
I'm not a Q-tip! (Note: White hair plus white gymmers = Q-tip)

I have to say, the gambling trip was a good deal. You pay $10 to ride the bus to the casino, which is an hour and 45 minute trip through some marvelous desert scenery and when you arrive they give you a coupon book that has coupons for $11 in cash, $5.00 off lunch/dinner for two, free drink coupons and more discounts. So we got a free bus ride, a very good lunch at a very cheap price, lost most of our gambling stash (nothing new) and spent an enjoyable afternoon with some new friends. It actually sprinkled a little on the ride home (still no rain for Phoenix after 114 days) and the smell of rain was heady after such a long absence.

So this afternoon I'll try gambolling again. I'm the honorary Q-tip.
