Yesterday while I was out visiting in the campground, Denny's laptop started re-booting itself in the middle of his online computer game-playing. After arriving home, I started doing some diagnostics, but was getting re-booted myself after receiving error messages that there was something wrong with the hard drive pertaining to new hardware or new software. So I uninstalled the latest Netscape 8.1 upgrade and removed the HP PSC all-in-one software/drivers and tried that. No go. After a couple of hours today I gave up and decided to just wipe it all out and reload Windows XP. Not to be. Not even tech support could help; he seems to feel that the hard drive is corrupted. This HP Pavilion laptop has been way more trouble than it's worth. Fortunately, we acted out of character upon our purchase and bought the extended warranty so we're still covered to take it in, but we'll have to wait until we get closer to Phoenix to drop it off at CompUSA as there aren't too many of their stores around here in the West.
So game playing will be competing with blogging and web site creating for the next couple of weeks. This could get ugly.
